🌟 Celebrating National Volunteers’ Week 2025: The Power of Student Volunteering at Brighton

As we mark National Volunteers’ Week (2–8 June 2025), we take this opportunity to celebrate the incredible contributions of student volunteers at the University of Brighton. Whether it’s supporting local schools, helping at community events, or contributing to environmental projects, our students are making a real difference—and gaining so much in return.

Why Volunteering Matters

Volunteering is more than just giving your time—it’s about building skills, boosting confidence, and connecting with your community. For students, it’s a powerful way to:

  • Enhance your CV with real-world experience
  • Develop transferable skills like teamwork, communication, and leadership
  • Explore career paths and gain insight into different sectors
  • Improve wellbeing through meaningful engagement and social connection
  • Make lifelong friendships and networks

In fact, research shows that 82% of hiring managers are more likely to choose a candidate with volunteering experience—a compelling reason for students to get involved.
